We are very proud of our food. It shows in everything we do and though we have all of your favourite Indian dishes, you will also see many dishes on our menu that are unique to The Princess of Hearts.

What, or who, has been your inspiration in life?

“I guess my biggest influence was my father. He was my inspiration and role model as a chef, a restauranteur and businessman, but also as a human being. He instilled in me the values of hard work, self-sufficiency, dedication and commitment to quality and service, which have all been the cornerstones of my success and which still drive me in my business and family life today”

We only use the finest fresh ingredients, the best spices and all our dishes are prepared fresh to order.  This means that you may have to wait a little longer, especially during busy times, but we promise it will always be worth wait.  We know this because our customers tell us.  Probably 90% of our customers are regulars, who have been dining with us for years, many since we first opened over 14 years ago, so we must be doing something right.
You can ask our staff to prepare dishes any way you like. A lot of our customers like their curries quite spicy, but we don’t just load a standard curry with mountains of chilli powder. There’s a bit more it than that! We can ramp up the heat on request, whilst retaining, or even enhancing, the natural flavours of the dish by clever addition of different varieties of fresh chilies.

What’s your philosophy as a restauranteur?

“We don’t do gimmicks or giveaways. Frankly, we’ve never needed to and I don’t think our customers don’t want that sort of thing. We concentrate on great food and great service and that’s what keeps people coming back. We’ve never had to advertise and recently put our prices up for the first time in 8 years without a single complaint. People appreciate quality and are prepared to pay for it.”
